Lian Padukan Silat

Hello Everyone !!!

Lian Padukan is a form of Silat originating in Malaysia
It focuses on close-quarters unarmed combat.

Basic Concepts :

1. Execution of a continuous barrage of hands, elbows, knees and foot strikes in combination.

2. Does not emphasize on joint-locks and grappling as the means to end a fight.

3. The primary motive is to knock-out the opponent with the most pain-inflicting movements in shortest time.

4. Once the opponent is incapacitated, the choice of ending can be knock-out strikes or joint-locks.

The 5 Primary Tactics :

1. Charging-- Pressurizing with a barrage of attacks.
2. Dotting-- Immobilizing with locks and pressure points.
3. Preempting-- Attacking before the opponent gets a chance
4. Following-- Following opponent's movements
5. Seizing-- Grasping or moving opponent's defensive limbs.

The 6 Objectives of the Students :

1. Building technical precision
2. Speed
3. Reaction time
4. Power/ physical strength
5. Patience
6. Quiescence

Weapons Used :

1. Tekpi truncheon
2. Kris dagger
3. Chinese sword
4. Spear
