  • The 3 Gunas :--
         a) Sattva
         b) Rajas
         c) Tamas
  • The 3 Levels :--
         a) Conscious
         b) Unconscious/ Subconscious
         c) Super conscious 
  • The 4 Functions :--
          a) Manas  (Active mind)             -- Sensory, processing mind
          b) Chitta   (Subconscious mind) -- Storage of impressions
          c) Buddhi (Intellect)                   -- Knows, decides, judge, discriminates 
  • The 5 Conditions :--
         a) Scattering
         b) Darkening 
         c) Gathering
         d) One-pointed
         e) Concentrated

10. How is Sattva Purified :
The purer the mind, the easier to control. 
Sattvika food leads to sattvik mind which leads to sattvik gunas.
  • The 4-fold Vedantic discipline :--
          a) Discrimination between things permanent and transient. 
          b) Renunciation of the enjoyment of fruits of action of this world and hereafter. 
          c) The cultivation of the 6 Treasures-- 
              I) Restraining outgoing mental propensities.
              II) Restraining the external sense organs
              III) Withdrawing the Self
              IV) Forbearance
              V) Self-settlement 
              VI) Faith
         d) Longing for liberation

11. Senses, mind and Buddhi are co-related.

12. The 5 Facts of Life to be remembered for Favorable Inner Climate : (by Lord Buddha) 
      a) Old age will come
      b) Disease can come
      c) Death will come
      d) All things held dear are subject to change and separation
      e) We all are the outcomes of our deeds 

13. The 2 Sets of Inner Disciplines :
      a) For permanent basic operation
      b) For proving high power emergency brakes 
      
14. The Basic Steps in Mind Control :
      a) Bring preponderance of Sattva by intake of only Sattvik foods
      b) Daily Meditation
      c) Avoid strong likes and dislikes
      d) Healthy occupation of mind
      e) Keeping harmonious human relations
      f) Daily Pranayama
      g) Constant discrimination of right and wrong.
      h) Stop identifying yourself with mind and start watching the mind.
