Concepts of Krav Maga

Krav Maga is an Israeli military self-defence and fighting system derived from a combination of techniques sourced from Aikido, Boxing, Wrestling, Judo, and Karate.

Krav Maga is known for its focus on real-world situations and its extreme efficiency. It was derived from the street-fighting experience of Hungarian-Israeli martial artist Mr. Imi Lichtenfeld, during the mid-to-late 1930's.

The 4 Basic Principles :

1. Be  humble
2. Do what is right
3. Don't get hurt
4. Be proficient, so you don't get hurt needlessly and irreversibly.

The 7 Guidelines :

1. Avoid the danger, if can't, use appropriate defense techniques to defend without getting hurt.
2. When you build defense, take advantage of natural body reactions.
3. Punish the aggressor by targeting his vital areas, like Eyes, ears, nose, throat, groin.
4. Choose appropriate response to conflict situation.
5. Block the attack and counter-attack in most rapid and straight-forward way possible.
6. Use any item that can assure you an advantage in situation.
7. No rules in defense.

The 5 Moral Codes :

1. Humility
2. Honesty
3. Modesty
4. Moderation
5. Non aggressiveness

The 6 Concepts :

1. The 360° defense
2. Circular movement
3. Change direction
4. Agility
5. Keep distance
6. Timing
