The 3 Conditioning of Mind :
1. Time
2. Space
3. Causation
Karma :
1. The 4 Factors :--
a) Decisions--
The quality of our decisions leads to the quality of our actions.
b) Consequences--
The aim also determines the quality of the consequences that come back from those actions.
c) Deep impressions--
These consequences come to rest in the bed of our subconscious as deep impressions which determines our Karma.
d) Recycling--
These samskaras will at some point lead to further thoughts, speech and actions, that again lead to more consequences.
2. The 3 Stages of Karma :--
a) Impressions from past consequences.
b) These impressions come forward
c) Actions and speech spring forth
3. The Formula of Karma :--
Current Karma = Old samskaras/ impressions + New samskaras added - Old samskaras played out
Yoga Science :
1. The 4 Basic Yoga Sutras :--
a) Now Yoga science is being expounded
b) By gaining control over mind and its modifications, one can attain the highest state of wisdom (Samadhi)
c) When we come to realize our essential nature, we get freedom.
d) We are constantly identifying our self with objects of the world. That is why we suffer.
2. The 5 Levels of Mind :--
a) Kshipta (completely distracted mind)
b) Vikshipta (no control over mind)
c) Mudha-buddhi (remains in a state of stupor)
d) Ekagra buddhi (concentrated mind)
e) Niruddha buddhi (mind completely under control)
3. OM Mantra and the 7 Levels of Consciousness :--
a) Waking-- Conscious, gross (A of AUM)
b) Transition/ Unmani
c) Dreaming-- Unconscious, subtle (U of AUM)
d) Transition/ Aladani
e) Deep sleep-- Subscious, causal (M of AUM)
f) Samadhi
g) Turiya-- Pure consciousness
4. The 3 Skills that go together by working with both Mindfulness and Concentration :--
a) Focus
b) Expansion
c) Non-attachment
