Police Defense Tactics (by B. Lau)

Hii Everyone !!!

The 3 Levels of Force :

1. Minimum force :--

  • It involves the use of verbal techniques.
  • The object is no physical injuries to anyone.

2. Intermediate force :--

  • It involves the use of unarmed defensive tactics or armed techniques involving chemical weapons, batons, electroshock weapons and similar less-lethal weapons.
  • The object is no permanent or life-threatening injury to anyone.
3. Maximum force :--
  • It involves the use of lethal weapons like firearms and knives.
  • The object is permanently stopping the threat.
  • Whatever level of force is used, certain techniques always helps --
          a) Distraction
          b) Body language, which has 4 parts, i.e., facial expressions, gesture, posture, space occupied                  in relation to other people. Observation of these elements can help anticipating intent.
          c) Verbal techniques

A Sequence of Events

1. Avoid the attack :--
Avoid getting hurt. If that's impossible, then try to avoid being hit hard. Get off the line of attack.

2. Breathe

3. Take control of the momentum and be offensive.

4. Use distracting tactics :--
Pinch, pull hair, headbutt, feet stomp etc.

5. Apply a technique.
