The 3 mind-related :--

1. Thinking about taking others' wealth

2. To harm others

3. Fear of death


The 5 Types of Sin : (Padma Purana, 5-Uttar.785)

1. Committed by will

2. Committed unwillingly 

3. Small and big

4. Physical, mental and by speech

5. Committed unknowingly


The 9  Types of Sins :

  • Committed by those who are subjected to anger, passion and avarice.
  • The 9 types are :--
  1. Maha patak
  2. Adhi-patak
  3. Sama patak
  4. Upa-patak
  5. Sankarakaran
  6. Malinikaran
  7. Apatri-karan
  8. Jati-bhransh karan
  9. Gyan-agyaan krit paap vichar

Judgment of the Sins :

  • Born to Sun God and Goddess Chhaya, Shani deva is elder brother of Lord Yama. These brothers are charged with the duty of preserving Dharma in the creation.
  • Lord Shani brings judgement in mortal life, while Lord Yama judges the sinner souls in the after-life.
