Principles of Judo

Judo, a Japanese martial art, is generally categorized as a modern martial art, which has since evolved into a combat and Olympic sport. The sport was created in 1882 by Jigoro Kano as a physical, mental, and moral pedagogy in Japan. 


Core Principles :

1. Balance, speed, leverage, surprise, aggression and continuity of attack.

2. Avoid opposing strength to strength. 


Aims of Practice :

1. Learning of practice

2. Non-resistance

3. Speed and timing
