The 9 Rules of Celibacy in Jainism

 The 9 Rules :

 1. One should live in a place devoid of woman, beast or a eunuch.

2. A lone man should not tell religious stories or give sermons to a lone woman. He should also refrain from talks about a woman.

3. A man should not look steadily at eyes, face or other organs of a woman.

4. Do not sit on a seat occupied by a woman for 48 minutes after she vacates it, as her Aura is present there for that duration.

5. One should not leave the place, where words of amorous plays of a woman are heard.

6. Abstain from recollections of amorous plays indulged in previously.

7. Abstain from very oily, spicy and infatuating foods.

8. Abstain from taking excess even the dry or arid foods.

9. Abstain from bodily decoration and cosmetic treatment.
