The Basic Concepts of Self Defense (by Master Chen Ching-he)

Hello Everyone !!!


The 11 Basic Concepts are :

1. Relax

2. Follow direction of power

3. Guard the Center-line

4. Use a high stance for fighting

5. Avoid double-weightiness

6. During moments of transition, take advantage of weak spots.

7. Avoid meeting power directly

8. Break apart the 3 joints :--
   a) Arm-- Shoulders, elbows, wrists
   b) Torso-- Neck, ribs, waist
   c) Leg-- Hips, knees, ankles

9. Choose the attack point

10. Don't use power unless you actually meet power

11. Use techniques and power in accordance with proper timing
