NINJA : THE MYTH, THE REALITY (PART-3)

Hello everyone !!!
Here is the final and concluding part of the Ninja series of posts.

Ninja Training :

  • Ninja training included instructions in esoteric Buddhism, Chinese Yin & Yang philosophy, mountain asceticism, herbal medicine, psychology, astronomy, magic, pharmacology and fortune telling.
  • Ninjas did a lot of physical training and tried to keep their body weight around 60 kgs. They lifted 60-kg rice bags with one hand for strength, sprinted at great speeds backwards, sideways and trained hard to develop skills in climbing, jumping, swimming, moving through difficult terrain. Finger strengthening exercises were done so that they could hang through trees and walls for hours !! They were forbidden from eating meat and ate brown rice, to boost their concentration.
  • They learned the 18 basic Ninpo techniques and 18 martial arts skills.
  • Training took part in small family units.
Its just a basic outline of the training which was done by the practitioners of Ninjutsu. There are much more information about them documented and orally told.

Thats all for this post now.

Thank you for reading !!!
