Thailand Historical Kingdoms List

Thailand has a rich history of kingdoms that shaped its culture and political landscape. Some of the notable ancient kingdoms include:

- Dvaravati, which existed from the 6-9th centuries and was influenced by Indian culture.  

- Lopburi, controlled by the Khmer from the 9-13th centuries, featuring strong Hindu and Buddhist influences.  

- Srivijaya, a powerful maritime empire between the 8-13th centuries that influenced trade and religion.  

- Sukhothai, considered the first true Thai kingdom, known for its art and governance, lasting from the 13-15th centuries.  

- Lanna, a northern Thai kingdom with distinct cultural traditions, existing from the 13-18th centuries.  

- Ayutthaya, a dominant kingdom from 1351 to 1767 that expanded Thai influence before falling to Burmese invasions.  

- Thonburi, a short-lived kingdom from 1767 to 1782 that emerged after Ayutthaya's fall.  

- Rattanakosin, established by King Rama I in 1782 and continuing to the present day.
