Know about Kayasthas [Part-3]

Hello everyone !!!

Lord Chitragupta mentioned in the Garuda Purana :

  • He is propitiated by the gifts of inn, salt, cotton stuff, sesame and gold. [8.46-48]
  • In Yamaloka, the mansion of Sri Chitragupta extends upto 25 yojanas. He is seated on his throne. [14.6-15]
Some Verses from Yajnavalakya Smriti :

  • Kayasthas of Bengal belong to Sat-shudras. [Ch. 3.LXXXIX]
  • Kayasthas are Kshatriyas. [Ch.4.XCIV]
  • According to the modern theory, there are no ruling Kshatriya kings in Kaliyuga. All of them now belong to one of the 3 classes according to Bhavishya Purana -- Brahma-kshatriya, Kayastha and Rajputs.  [Ch.4.XCV]
  • Kayasthas should follow professions of mathematics, accounts, writing, trade and arts. Sri Chitragupta is entitled to 5 Samskaras.  [Ch.4.XCV]
  • Chitragupta was born from Lord Brahma; according to another legend, He was born from the oy of Kali during samudra manthan; origin of Chitragupta-Kayastha, CKP.  [Ch.4.XCV]
  • The 3 kinds of Kayastha -- Chitraguptiya, CKP, Pratiloma.  [Ch 4.CXV]
  • Chitragupta Kayastha and CKP are Kshatriyas. [Ch. 4.CXV]
