They specialised as priests (purohit, pandit, or pujari), teachers (acharya or guru), ayurvedic physicians and protectors of sacred learning across generations. The Gaucho Culture

The Gaucho culture was a type of cowboy culture of South America, which existed from 1501-1801 The typical outfit includes a poncho (doubled as a saddle blanket, as sleeping gear), a Facon knife and a Rebenque (leather whip) . The main components of a Gaucho life are related to rural life of plain, horse, guitar and mate.   Hello Everyone !!! All-In Fighting is a book written by W.E. Fairbairn, a British Royal Marine and police officer, in 1942. 1. Blows : Edge of the hand, chin-jab, bot kick (side kick), boot defense, Bronco Kick, knee strike, cupped-hand strike. If attacking with a stick/ cane, the killing vital spots are - Chin, Adam's apple. 2. Knife-attack : Vital spots to strike are - Wrist, lower bicep, cartoid artery, sub-clavian artery, heart, belly. 3. The Smatchet : Length - 16.5" Close-in blow spots - Belly stab, sabre-cut to right low of neck, cut to left-low of neck, chin-uppercut with pommel, pommel hammer-blow to face. Some Wisdom Gems from the Dhanurveda

 Hello Everyone !!! Dhanurveda (Science of archery / Knowledge of archery) is a Sanskrit treatise on warfare and archery, traditionally regarded as an "upaveda" attached to Yajurveda . Some of the Wisdom Quotes from the Text : Archers and warriors should practice and sharpen their skills in such a way that they are able to perform their duties and conquer the enemy. The Guru (spiritual teacher) gives a bow to a Brahmin disciple, a sword to a Kshatriya, a lance to a Vaishya and a mace to a Shudra. Undergoing hard labor, an archer realize the art and techniques of different types of warfare and through it, he achieves victory. The Concept of Mlecchas in Hinduism

 Hello Everyone !!! In Vedic era India, all alien cultures that were less civilized were termed as "Mlecchas" or barbarians. They were unknown to the Vedic culture, not versed in Sanskrit and were out of the Bharatvarsha. King Bhoja (1,010-1,015 AD) established Languages for the 4 Varnas : Brahmins - Sanskrit Kshatriya - Sanskrit Vaishya - Sanskrit Shudras - Prakrit Mlecchas mentioned in Scriptures : The 5 Mleccha tribes - Kirata, Pulindasa, Indo-Greek, Scythians, Kushanas. ( Amar Kosha, 814 AD) This tribe was born from the tail of Nandini (celestial cow). They are dwellers of hills and mountains, of fierce eyes, conversant with deceptive powers of the Asuras.   ( Mahabharata 7.92) Mentioned in several verses of Srimad Bhagvatam and Chaitanya Charitamrita . According to the text Bhavishya Purana , there are 4 Mleccha languages . In this way, there are 4-million kinds of other languages. The Cane as a Weapon

 Hello Everyone !!! This classic and unique American self defense manual was originally written by A.C. Cunningham in 1912 . It details a practical and versatile system of self defense using a common walking cane or umbrella.  1. Holding the Cane : To hold a cane ready for instant attack or defense, grasp it at a distance about 1/4th or 1/3rd from butt. At least 4-6" of the butt should project from back of the hand. 2. The 9 Kinds and Directions of Blows : Jab Thrust Uppercut Right cut Left cut Down cut Diagonal cut Circular cuts Back hand cuts 3. Dvarpalas in Hinduism

 Hello Everyone !!! A Dvarapala or Dvarapalaka is a door or gate guardian often portrayed as a warrior or fearsome giant, usually armed with a weapon. Some Facts about them : They guard entrances of holy sanctums and are generally armed with staff, mace or staff with hooded snake/ skull. The dvarpalas of Vishnu temple are - Chanda & Prachanda, Dhatru & Vidhatru, Jaya & Vijaya, Bhadra & Subhadra. The dvarpalas of Shiva temple are - Nandi & Mahakala, Herambha & Bhringi, Durmukh & Pandura, Sita & Asita. The dvarpalas of Brahma temple are - Herambha & Bhringi. Mentioned in Scriptures : Dvarpala is known by sword hanging by his side, holds a staff in his hand, does not look very mild and his dress is not too conspicuous.     ( Vishnu-dharmottara Purana III.42.1-84 )   Thanks for Reading !!!
