ANGELS & DEVAS/DEMI-GODS [Part-I]

 Hello everyone !!!

Angels in Bible :

  • Always appear in human form. [Luke 24.4; 1.11]
  • Capable of direct physical combat. [Exo 11.4-5; 2 Samuel 24.16-17; 2 Kings 19.35]
  • Don't marry in Heaven, no physical death
  • They have intellect, emotions and will. [Matthew 8.29; Luke 2.13, 8.28-31]
  • They are spirit beings, made of light. [Hebrews 1.14]
  • They have more knowledge and power than humans, lesser than God.
  • Organized and ranked
  • Immortal, no need of food and drinks
  • Carry swords. [Genesis 3.24; Numbers 22.23; 1 Chron. 21.16; Ephesians 6.10-18]
  • Messengers and warrior of God, also act as guardians of humans to protect, reveal information and guide.
  • Angels seen by humans as young men, dressed in white robe. [Mark 16.5]
  • Few Angels have wings. [Exodus 25.20; Ezekiel 10; Isaiah 6]
  • Can appear friendly or terrifying [Gen. 18.1-19; Joshua 5.13-14; Exodus 3.2]
  • Cherubs are guardian angels with 4 wings, 4 faces (man, lion, bull, eagle), hoofed legs. [Exodus 25.20; Ezekiel 1.5-11]
  • Can appear as ordinary men, glorious men or fantastic spirits. [Hebrews 13.2; Daniel 10.16; Isaiah 6.2]
  • They follow the 7 heavenly virtues -- Chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness & humility.

The Concept of Mlecchas in Hinduism

 Hello Everyone !!! In Vedic era India, all alien cultures that were less civilized were termed as "Mlecchas" or barbarians. They were unknown to the Vedic culture, not versed in Sanskrit and were out of the Bharatvarsha. King Bhoja (1,010-1,015 AD) established Languages for the 4 Varnas : Brahmins - Sanskrit Kshatriya - Sanskrit Vaishya - Sanskrit Shudras - Prakrit Mlecchas mentioned in Scriptures : The 5 Mleccha tribes - Kirata, Pulindasa, Indo-Greek, Scythians, Kushanas. ( Amar Kosha, 814 AD) This tribe was born from the tail of Nandini (celestial cow). They are dwellers of hills and mountains, of fierce eyes, conversant with deceptive powers of the Asuras.   ( Mahabharata 7.92) Mentioned in several verses of Srimad Bhagvatam and Chaitanya Charitamrita . According to the text Bhavishya Purana , there are 4 Mleccha languages . In this way, there are 4-million kinds of other languages.
