SAS Survival Handbook is a survival manual released in 1986 by John Wiseman. Here are some excerpts from that book.


Main Elements of Survivalism :

Food, water, fire, shelter, navigation and medicine.

Contact people who knew it already, read books, study maps, plan.

Equipment :

Clothing, sleeping bags, backpack, stowing kit, GPS, radios, cellphone, Altimeters.

Matches, candles, flint, magnifying glass, sewing kit, compass, Beta light, snare wire, folding saw, med-kit (Analgesics, intestinal sedatives, antibiotics, anti-histamines, water purification tablets, Potassium permanganate bottle, surgical blade, butterfly sutures, plasters).

Vehicle Survival Pouch :

Mess-tin, fuels (Hexamine fuel tablets, wood), flashlight, signal flares, marker panel, matches, brew kit (tea, milk, sugar), food (butter, chocolates, salt, electrolyte powder), logbook, Pen.

Knives to Carry :

Folding pocket knife, Parang machete.
