The 5 Elements of Modern Technique of Pistol :

 1. A large caliber pistol, preferably a semi-auto.
2. The Weaver stance
3. The presentation
4. The flash sight picture
5. The compressed surprise trigger break.

The 4 Basic Rules of Gun Safety :

 1. All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are willing not to destroy.
3. Keep the finger off the trigger till the sights are on the target.
4. Identify the target and what is behind it. Never shoot at anything that you have not positively identified.

 1. Diligentia (Accuracy)--
You must hit assailant in order to injure him.
2. Vis (Force)--
Strike the opponent with sufficient force to incapacitate him.
3. Celeritas (Speed)-- 
Strike him quickly, so the opponent does not injure you before you injure him.
