The Kshatriya Varna and Clan System in India

Kshatriya is one of the 4 varna (social orders) of Hindu society, associated with warrior aristocracy.
Other Facts :
- There were 13 branches of learning for them, during the Vedic era.
- According to the historians, they have 36 royal clans.
- Kshatriyas are divided in various lineages, primary being Suryavansha, Chandravansha, Agni-kula and Naga-vansha.
- In rituals, Nyagrodha-danda is assigned to the Kshatriya class.
- Kshatriya Varna Qualities as per the Vedas are action, will, aggression, energy, seek honor, power, status, martial and political temperament.
- Color associated - red (Rajas element)
- The 5 ancient tribes - Druhyu, Anu, Puru, Danu, Yadu.

Heroism, power, determination, resourceful, courage in battle, generosity, leadership.

Influential in battle, unconquerable, patient, challenging and charitable, control of bodily necessities, forgiving, attached to Brahminical nature, jolly and truthful.
c) The 4 Traits :-- (by Sage Bhrigu)
Engaged in the profession of battle, studies Vedas, makes gifts to Brahmins, acquire wealth.
d) According to the book "The Influence of Islam on Indian Culture", Rajput age started in 647 AD.
e) Total martial races in India - 30 (British India, 1925)
