Djinn in Islam

In Islam there is a concept of existence of supernatural beings called Djinns or Jinns. They were also created by God like all other living and non-living things in the Universe.

Some Facts about the Djinns :

1. They are made of smoke of fire.

2. Creatures with free-will and physically stronger than humans.

3. They are among the 3 sapient creations of God :--
Djinn (fire), human (clay) and Angels (light).

4. They are shape-shifter, travel at the speed of light. 

5. Exist as both male and females.

6. Residence :--
a) Deserted places
b) Dirty places
c) Parallel dimensions

7. The 3 types :--
a) Those having wings and fly through air.
b) Those resembling snakes and dogs.
c) Those that stop for a rest and then resumes its journey.

8. The 8 classes of Djinns :--
a) Jann
b) Djinn
c) Shaytan
d) Ifrit
e) Marid
f) Ghoul
g) Sila
h) Vetala

9. They possess 4 types of eye-colors according to their types :--
a) Red         (fire)
b) Blue       (water)
c) Gold       (earth)
d) No pupil (air)

10. The 5 colors of Djinns :--
a) Black   (powerful)
b) Blue     (older, intelligent)
c) Green   (young, immature, playful)
d) Red      (hostile, aggressive)
e) Yellow (leaders of a small clan)

11. They too eat, drink and marry just like humans.

12. Less IQ than humans but longer lifespan.

13. Height of 15-feet or more.

14. Who can see or perceive them :--
a) Animals
b) Human babies up to age of 4 years.

15. Djinns are attracted to Ittar, strong perfumes, attractive appearance of humans.
