Bugging-out in an Urban Breakdown

Hii Everyone !!!

The 10 Tips for Bugging-out :

1. Understand the Risks :--

  • Stay tuned into current events, weather and science for being aware of any potential threats to the normal life in the area.
  • Be aware of specific natural disasters, terror threats or political situations that can pose a risk where you live or work.

2. Prepare a Bug Out Bag :--

  • Gather the necessary gear and supplies and learn to use any items that you may not be familiar with.
  • Make sure all the stuffs needed fits in the bag and that you can carry it on the back while travelling on foot, if needed.
3. Have a Pre-planned BOL :--
  • Scout the potential BOL (bug-out location) in your region through the study of maps, research online, in books and by on-the-ground reconnaissance.
  • Evaluate a BOL based on remoteness and inaccessibility to the masses, natural hazards, available resources such as water, plant foods, games and reasonable proximity to the starting point.
4. Know the best Escape Routes :--

  • Know in advance, the route you will take to your chosen BOL using available transportation options and back-ups.
  • Choose routes that are not likely to be the scene of mass evacuations and traffic jams and practice travelling them so you will know the way, no matter what the circumstances.
  • Consider unconventional routes  that will allow you to avoid as many people as possible.
5. Keep Vehicle Ready :--

  • Make sure it is well maintained and that the fuel-tank is kept topped-off as much as possible.
  • Have the necessary emergency equipment to deal with different weather conditions, spare parts that commonly need replacing and the tools to install them.
  • Include towing gear, a Winch and Bolt-cutters to open padlock gates.
6. Consider Alternate Transportation :--

  • Using bicycles is better option in a grid-locked city with roads choked with car jams.
  • Boat can be the best option if there is a navigable water such as a stream, river etc., as there will be far fewer people trying to evacuate by boats.
7. Be prepared to Walk, if all else fails, including the vehicle or there are unconventional routes to cover.

8. Be inconspicuous and blend-in.

9. Avoid confrontations at all cost.

10. Resist the urge to go back too soon.
