Kendo Philosophy

Hiii Everyone !!! Kendo is a Japanese martial art based on the art of sword fighting. The primary weapon used in Kendo practice is a "Shinai", made of bamboo and around 44" to 47" long. In 1975, the All Japan Kendo Federation developed then published "The Concept and Purpose of Kendo"  which was as follows :-- Concept : Kendo is a way to discipline the human character through the applications of the principles of Katana. Basic Principles of Combative (FM No. 3-25.150)

Hiii Everyone !!! The 8 Basic Principles are :-- 1. Situational awareness -- Things are often going on around the fighters that could have a direct impact on the outcome of the fight, such as, opportunity weapons or other persons joining the fight etc. 2. Suppleness -- Supple misdirection of the enemy's strength allows superior technique and fight strategy to overcome superior strength. 3. Base -- It refers to the posture that allows a soldier to gain leverage from the ground. Generally, a soldier must keep his center of gravity low and his base wide-- much like a Pyramid. 4. Dominant body position --  Position refers to the location of the fighter's body in relation to his opponent's. A vital principle when fighting is to gain control of the enemy by controlling this relationship. Hapkido Principles

Hii everyone !!! Hapkido is a highly eclectic Korean martial art. It is a form of self defense that employs strikes, joint locks, grappling and throwing techniques.  It also includes the use of weapons like knife, sword, rope, Nunchakus, sticks and staffs. Creator-- Mr. Choi Yong-Sool Principles of Hapkido : 1. Non-resistance (Hwa) -- The act of remaining relaxed and not directly opposing an opponent's strength. 2. Circular principle (Won) -- It is a way to gain momentum and executing technique in a natural and free-flowing manner. 3. The Water Principle (Yu) --  It can be thought of as soft, adaptable strength of water. As the flowing stream penetrates and surrounds its obstructions and as dripping water eventually penetrates the stone, so does the Hapkido strength flows in and through its opponent. Thats All !!! Hand-to-Hand Combat Striking Principles

Hii Everyone !!! Effective striking with weapons of the body to the opponent's vital spots is essential for a victorious outcome in unarmed combat. A soldier must be able to employ principles of effective striking if he is to emerge as a survivor in a fight to death. 1. Attitude :- Proper mental attitude is of prime importance. In a hand-to hand combat, a soldier must have an attitude that he will defeat the enemy and complete the mission, no matter what. In a fight to death, soldier must have the frame of mind to survive above all else and must commit himself to hit the opponent continuously with whatever it takes to drive him to ground or end his resistance. 2. Fluid Shock-wave :- A strike should be delivered so that the target is hit and weapon remains on impact site for atleast a 10th of a second.
