Indian Army Uniforms under the British from the 18th century to 1947 book (1961)

  Hello Everyone !! When the  East India Company  ( 1858-1947 ) founded its rule in Bengal, they began recruiting Indians into the ranks of their Army. Their uniform resembled the scarlet tunic worn by the English soldiers serving the Crown. The red coat was the standard uniform of the British Empire and is worn by the  Queen’s Guards  even today. The  British Indian Army  adopted it to symbolize the Union Jack and signify British dominance.  Some regiments also adopted different colors. Auckland Rugby League Season NZ (1940)

  Hello everyone !! Auckland Rugby League Season NZ (1940) The 1940  Auckland Rugby League  season was its 32nd. Richmond Rovers  won the Fox Memorial Shield for the 4th time after previously winning in  1934 ,  1935 , and  1937 . They finished the season with a 12 win, 1 draw, 3 loss record and were 3 points ahead of runner up  North Shore Albions , with  Mount Albert United  in 3rd.  Papakura  struggled through much of the competition only managing 1 win. They, like many teams had lost playing members to the war effort and were unable to field a reserve grade side. In Oct 1940, L. Rout, secy of the Auckland Rugby League primary school boys committee was presented with a blazer, fountain pen & pencil in recognition of his work for 10 years. Thank you for reading !!

Britain's Operation Mincemeat in World War-II (1943)

  Hello everyone !! Operation Mincemeat : (1943) A deception operation of UK to liberate Sicily from Axis power. Part of the wider Operation Barclay , Mincemeat was based on the 1939 Trout memo, written by Rear Admiral John Godfrey, the Director of the Naval Intelligence Division, and his personal assistant, Lieutenant Commander Ian Fleming. It was executed with the approval of the then British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. The body of Glyndwr Michael, a homeless person who died from eating rat poison, dressed him as an officer of the Royal Marines and placed personal items on him identifying him as the fictitious Captain William Martin of UK Royal Marines.
