Samudra Manthan in Hinduism

Hello everyone!!! According to Hindu Scriptures, there is mentioned an event of samudra manthan , or churning of ocean. It was done by Asuras (demons) and Devas (demi-gods).  In that churning incident, Ksheer Sagar was churned, churning rod was Mount Mandar, churning rope was snake Vasuki and Lord Vishnu as Kurma avatar acted as the base of the mountain, when it started to sink after some time of churning. According to the legend, 14 jewels came out as a result of churning. The jewels were : 1. Halaahal          (poison)-- Lord Shiva drank it, which remained in His throat 2.
