BARTITSU : THE LOST ART OF UNITED KINGDOM The eclectic and hybrid combative art of Bartitsu created by Mr. E.W. Barton Wright of UK during 1898-1902. It was mainly developed to address the problems of civilian/ urban self defense in an "unarmed society" of that period .   Bartitsu incorporated combat techniques from boxing, Judo, Jujutsu, Savate, French stick fighting and Schwingen (Swiss wrestling style). It also included a comprehensive physical culture training system.
